PDP committed to reconciliation’

National Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party has said it is committed to ongoing reconciliation in the party.

In a communiqué at a three-day retreat in Uyo on Tuesday, the party said its focal points were reconciliation, reformation and rebuilding.

The National Secretary of the party, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, who read the communique, said the retreat resolved to pursue vigorously the reconciliation processes that are ongoing in the party.

He said, “The retreat resolved to institutionalise regular interface between the party and elected office- holders in both the executive and legislative arms of government to ensure party ideals and programmes are faithfully implemented.

“The retreat resolved that the issue of women and youth empowerment is a critical vehicle for the growth and sustainability of not only the party but democracy and the Nigerian nation.”
