Ondo Poll: Akeredolu Promises Seaport In Ilaje

Action Congress of Nigeria’s candidate for the October 20 Ondo State governorship election, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, has promised to build a seaport in Ilaje, a riverside of the state.

Akeredolu, who visited the area on Sunday, said the seaport would boost the economy of the area and the state.

A statement by Akeredolu Campaign Organisation’s Director of Publicity, Idowu Ajanaku, said the former Nigeria Bar Association President  was accompanied by his running mate, Dr. Paul Akintelure; Director-General of ACO, Chief Tayo Alasoadura;  women leader,  Mrs. Modupe Johnson, and others.

Ajanaku said, “The traditional rulers present promised their support for the Akeredolu-Akintelure ticket to mobilise their subject to vote for the  ACN.

“Akeredolu was almost moved to tears in the face of the degradation he saw in the visit to Ugbo constituency. In spite of  oil wealth, the people are wallowing in poverty.”

He  quoted the Senior Advocate of Nigeria  as saying,  “You should not harbor hatred in your heart even though you will be justified to feel cheated and shortchanged by  the Labour Party government.

“I can assured you that under my leadership this area will be completely transformed with a seaport which will attract huge economic activity from other West African countries and would complement the Lagos port.

“The huge revenue Cotonou, Benin Republic gets from car imports would be made possible  here leading to massive employment.”

Akeredolu said he would not embark on abandoned projects “like Mimiko who could not inaugurate a single road in three and half years of his administration.”
