Lagos State Governor Babatunde Fashola on Monday paid a solidarity visit to the Action Congress of Nigeria’s candidate for the October 20 Ondo State governorship election, Mr. Rotimi Akeredolu, in Akure ahead of the party’s Tuesday rally.
Fashola was optimistic that the former Nigeria Bar Association President would emerge victorious.
According to him, Akeredolu will transform the state if elected.
Director of Publicity, Akeredolu Campaign Organisation, Idowu Ajanaku, quoted Fashola as saying that Ondo would witness a new dawn under Akeredolu.
The ACN candidate, who expressed his appreciation to Fashola, said he would not disappoint the electorate.
Fashola was received by Akeredolu alongside the state Chairman of of the party, Chief Nathaniel Adesoji; the Director General of ACO, Chief Tayo Alasoadura, Senator Ajayi Boroffice, Mr. Ifedayo Abegunde, Mr. Jaiyeola Ajata, Mr. Ade Adetimehin, Mr. Adegboyega Adedipe and other party chiefs.
Meanwhile, the ACO said the cancellation of the Independence Day celebration in the state “showed Governor Olusegun Mimiko has lost focus.”
The campaign body said, “It is an admission that there is nothing to celebrate in his government.
“We want to call on the good people of this state to strengthen their resolve to vote Mimiko out on October 20. They have a date with destiny and a glorious opportunity to restore the pride of place of Ondo in the South-West.”
