Kaduna State Govt Announces Complete Removal Of Curfew

The Kaduna State Government has announced the total removal of the curfew imposed on June 17, following a significant improvement of the security situation in the state.

A statement signed by Mr Reuben Buhari, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Media, said the government took the decision at the State Executive Council meeting on Wednesday.

“The security council met today (Wednesday) and after extensive deliberation, decided to completely remove the curfew hours currently in place with effect from today.’’ It, however, said that the movement restriction on motorcycle operators was still in force.

It advised the people of the state to be law-abiding and cooperate with the security personnel to ensure that peace and tranquility prevailed.

It will be recalled that the state government had imposed a 24-hour curfew following the June 17 bomb attacks on three churches in Zaria and Kaduna, which resulted to a reprisal and counter reprisal attacks.
