Rivers State PDP chairman, Chief Felix Obuah in an interview bares his mind on how he has been able to weather the storm since the court declared him chairman of the party in the state.
According to him, PDP is a very big and formidable party and those who have left the party have come back. "Prominent members of our party such as the former transport minister, Dr Abiye Sekibo, the former national treasurer of Action Congress, Kenneth Kobani and many others that left the party have come back", he said.
When asked about the crisis involving Amaechi and the party, he said, "the present political crisis rocking Rivers State is attributed to the leadership style of the governor. When you have a man that is highhanded and arrogant at the helms of affairs you find it very difficult to deal with such a person.
"I don’t think anybody wants Governor Amaechi to leave the PDP. Our party is a very formidable party. He cannot afford to lose his membership of our party and none of us is praying for that. If he leaves PDP where do you think he will go?
"As it is Governor Amaechi will be a liability to any party he goes now. People having known his antecedent and temperament would not like to identify with him. They will treat him with fear and suspicion. It will not be easy for him to leave PDP for another party", he added.
