Christians of Lagos state have been called on to take active participation in the upcoming general elections.
Rev. Sam Ogedengbe, Senior Special Assistant to the governor of Lagos State on Christian Religious Matters and the National President of the All Christian Leaders-Ministers Forum, spoke on Sunday at the inauguration of ACLMF at Celestial Church of Christ, Imole-Oluwa parish, Iba, Lagos.
He lamented the indifference demontrated by Christians towards politics and urged his fellow Christians to assume leadership positions in order to implement what they preach.
He said thus: "It is now time for Christians to start positioning themselves in strategic positions of governance to ensure that governance is given a new face in the next dispensation.
"Other organisations like ours must also rise up to encourage and educate Christians to shelve being kingmakers, but rise up to become kings as far as next dispensation is concerned."
Earlier, the Province Head, CCC, Obadore Circuit, Sup. Evangelist Michael Tovide, urged leaders to discharge their duties conscientiously. He added that through such efforts, more politically-aware Christians would be produced.
