A truck load of armed policemen, yesterday, moved in and sealed up the Nasarawa State secretariat of the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), in Lafia, a day after members of the state executive council obtained a nod for the sacking of the state chairman, Hamidu Haruna.
Members of the state executive had earlier travelled to Abuja where they met with the national headquarters of the party over their earlier resolution suspending the chairman.
But armed police moved in as early as 7am, and sealed up the premises of the secretariat, baring members of the executive committee, and other stakeholders from having access to the premises along Shendam Road.
“I invited the police. The executive members lied against me. They said I ate fertilizer money and other things like that. So I invited the police to seal up the place; that they must prove their allegations that I ate money, or nobody will enter”, Hamidu said.
When Daily Trust visited the premises, armed policemen were seen at the gate in their van, with registration number: NPF 3213B.
