Chairman of the merger committee of the All Progressives Congress in Ondo State, Senator Ajayi Boroffice, on Monday called on the people of the state to join forces with the progressive politicians in the country to bring about good governance in Nigeria in 2015.
The committee was put in place to provide a framework for easy transition to APC by the merging parties.
Speaking at the committee’s meeting held in Akure, Boroffice said the committee would inaugurate working committees of the party at the grass roots level so that it could give it a strong footing that would facilitate good governance in Nigeria.
The state chairmen of Congress for Progressive Change, All Nigeria Peoples Party and All Progressive Grand Alliance, who were also at the meeting said they had ordered their members to work with the other merging group to commence mobilisation ahead of 2015 election.
The CPC chairman Mr. Olalekan Obolo, said he was pleased with the arrangements put in place for smooth transition.
Meanwhile, a chieftain of the APC, Malam Ibrahim Shekarau, on Monday said all zones in the country would be fairly treated under the new political party.
Shekarau, the ANPP presidential candidate in 2011 and former governor of Kano State, gave the assurance while answering questions from newsmen in Kano.
“Candidates, who will run for elective positions during election period will be based on the nation’s geo-political zones,” he said.
