President Goodluck Jonathan on Tuesday approved the inclusion of Barrister Aisha Wakil as a member of the Committee on Dialogue and Peaceful Resolution of Security Challenges in the North.
This was contained in a statement by the Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati.
The Kabiru Turaki-led committee which has been given the task of identifying and constructively engaging key leaders of the violent Islamic sect, Boko Haram, and developing a workable framework for amnesty and disarmament of members of the group initially had 26 members.
Two members, Datti Ahmed and Shehu Sani, had earlier rejected their nomination to serve on the committee.
Abati added in the statement the inauguration by the President of the committee and the Committee on Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons originally scheduled for 10am on Wednesday has been brought forward to 9am.
