Other signatories to the statement were Chief Willy Ezeugwu, Ochiagha Nsukka, Ozo Ogazimora, Victor Eneh and Ibuchukwu Ezike.

It was said in the statement that Gov. Chime was seen in public four months ago and a social media Sahara Reporters reported that the governor was in a London hospital receiving treatment.

The need for the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Mr Amaechi Okolo, to make a broadcast on the exact situation of the governor and offer apologies for the falsehood dished out to the public about him was stressed.

The group added that the information managers responsible for the misdemeanour should be sanctioned as they had misinformed the people.

Okwu, who is also the Chairman, Citizens Popular Party (CPP) accused information managers in the state of reporting that Chime was on holidays.

"Today makes it four months since the public cited our able Governor. We had always known that he would not stay for so long on a vacation unless the circumstances were beyond his control. Since we have lost confidence in the incredibility of information managers we proactively commissioned our investigators who tracked him down to Wellington Humane Hospital Swiss Cottage, London.

"In the light of the above, we demand that you make a broadcast to the people of Enugu State on the true situation of their governor. That you apologise on behalf of your government for all falsehood dished out by information managers.

"That all those who are involved in this grave misconduct be sanctioned.

"That you invite Christian Association of Nigeria, Enugu branch led by His Grace bishop Emmanuel Chukwuma to organise a prayer and fasting session for one week for divine intervention for the ailing governor," he said.
