Dino Melaye, Kogi APC leaders call for Governor Bello's resignation

- The politics in Kogi state is taking a new dimension

- The centre can no longer hold between the leaders of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC)

- The state governor is at the receiving end of the party leaders' constant criticisms

APC leaders in Kogi state have unanimously called for the resignation of Governor Yahaya Bello.

The party leaders who have been at logger heads with the governor made the call at the Abuja home of Senator Dino Melaye on Friday, May 26.

Melaye, who escaped assasination attempts on his life in the state last month, had acuused the governor of sending the thugs to silence him.

Also at the press briefing is the APC chairman in the state, Alhaji Haddi Ametuo, who led some members of the party to pass a vote of no confidence on the governor last year.

The APC leaders advised the governor to resign or face impeachment.

Meanwhile, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has officially confirmed that Governor Bello registered twice for permanent voter’s card.

The electoral law makes it a big offence to engage in double registration for which the governor is now been accused by INEC. According to INEC, Governor Bello illegally registered for voter’s card in Abuja and Kogi.
