Ex-president of Nigeria, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has mourned the death of Cuban revolutionary, Fidel Castro.
Fidel Castro was reported dead on Friday, November 25 at the age of 90 after being ill for years.
Goodluck Jonathan took to Facebook to share his sadness at hearing the news of Castro's death, a leader who he described as a friend to Africa.
Jonathan is not the only Nigerian leader who have mourned the Cuban revolutionary. The news of Fidel Castro’s death also stirred some deep emotions in President Muhammadu Buhari who expressed sadness at the passing on of former Cuban leader.
Buhari said he received the news of with profound grief. “On behalf of the Federal Government, President Buhari offers deepest condolences to Cuban President Raul Castro, and the people of Cuba on the passing early Saturday of the legendary leader, who passionately served his people for almost half a century,” Buhari said in a statement by his spokesperson, Femi Adesina.
