He never misses an opportunity to criticize President Muhammdu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The governor is not afraid of speaking his mind as we have seen him issue very controversial statements against the president over and over again.
As he celebrates his 56th birthday today, November 15, Legit.ng brings you some of Fayose’s most controversial quotes which shows he is not afraid of anybody, not even the no-nonsense President Buhari.

1. Buhari-led government is ‘one chance’
“APC is a government of ‘one chance’. Everything I’ve predicted would happen in Nigeria are happening, some have happened.
“Buhari can’t take Nigeria out of the woods. Food security is better than general security, hence my ‘stomach Infrastructure’ policy. Ekiti will be in economic bondages until 2036 because of debts collected by former Governor Kayode Fayemi, so my hands are tied.”
2. Buhari lacks ideas to lead the country, the right president is yet to come
“Unfortunately, Buhari cannot find a solution to hunger, unemployment, depressed economy and insecurity in the country because he is bereft of ideas. Nigerians should brace to change the change because the right president is yet to come. What we have now is an aberration."
3. Buhari is a dictator like Obasanjo
“If you look and search the style of Buhari’s administration and compare it with that of Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, who ruled the country between 1999 and 2007, the two administrations have a resemblance of military dictatorship.”
4. Buhari’s dictatorship will end one day
“If Buhari likes, let him relocate all DSS men in Nigeria with the entire ammunition in their armory to Ekiti, the will of Ekiti people can never be broken. They will only try, and like they have always done, they will fail because dictatorship has never triumphed over the people.
“Even Buhari’s dictatorship between 1984 and 1985 ended one day and Nigerians will also outlive his present dictatorship.”

5. Buhari should be held responsible if anything happens to Col Sambo Dasuki
“President Buhari seized late Chief Obafemi Awolowo international passport and prevented him from travelling abroad for medicare in 1985, thereby leading to his (Awolowo) untimely death of 1987. Buhari also hounded former Bayelsa State Governor, Diepreye Alamieyeseigha to death all in the name of fighting perceived political opponents.
“Therefore, it has become necessary to raise the alarm that nothing must happen to Dasuki. The fate that befell Awolowo in 1985 must not be allowed to befall Sambo Dasuki in 2015 and Nigerians must rise against this Buhari’s dictatorship and his instrument of oppression, Lawal Daura.”
6. Buhari’s age is affecting him
“Those promoting Buhari for 2019 should stop. I have told Nigerians that Buhari does not have the capacity now to govern Nigeria. What capacity will he display in seven years time? Currently as it stands, the president is challenged by age.”
7. God is angry with Buhari
"The way this government is taking people down, God is angry. God isn’t happy. Go to Rivers, they kill people. Go to Akwa Ibom, they kill people. Go to Bayelsa, they kill people, incarcerate innocent people. God is angry with Buhari. You can’t continue to take the blood of the innocent.”
8. Buhari should stop complaining
“Nigerians are not begging for too much; what they wanted is to change their fortunes for better. President Buhari must stop complaining. He must address this recession that is killing Nigerians.”
9. I cannot be intimidated to shut up
“Poor man is suffering under the watch of Buhari. You are fighting corruption, people are hungry, is it only corruption you have come to fight? People will not eat again.
“No act of intimidation and harassment will shut my mouth. I will continue to talk about national issues.”
10. Buhari is not a saint
“Somebody from Ekiti gave President Buhari N1.5b for campaign, but today he is being seen as a saint. When you want to campaign or do marriage, people will give you money and my own can’t be an exemption. I am not afraid of incarceration or death.”
11. Buhari is Nigeria's major problem
“Our President, through his actions and inactions is destroying everything that makes Nigeria a country and well-meaning Nigerians must stand-up to be counted in the crusade to save the country from going under. Which foreign investor will invest his money in a country of dishonest people? Who made investors to leave Nigeria if not President Buhari, who created atmosphere of economic and political instability in the country by his acts of nepotism and vindictiveness?”
Hope his boldness does not land him in trouble.
Happy Birthday Governor Fayose!
